Job Description
Title: Associate Buyer
Duration: Through 2027
Location: Remote
Summary
Responsible for placing purchase orders of approved supplies, equipment, and services for Froedtert Health. Resolves order related issues for internal customers.
Performs purchase order follow up activities with suppliers including order and delivery confirmations. Reconciles vendor invoice issues and shipping discrepancies. Processes customer and vendor returns. Develops relationships with internal customers and vendors. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
PURCHASE ORDER PROCESSING – Verifies, evaluates, and processes customer based requisitions into purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services based upon established standards, policies, procedures, and customer requirements. Makes every purchase in a timely manner with due regard to price, quality, service, required delivery, contractual obligations and commitments. Reviews purchase order confirmations including pricing and delivery. Provides proactive follow-up and communication on backorders and overdue orders and works with customer departments to minimize stock outs and ensure expectations are met.
COST SAVINGS – Facilitates cost savings and cost avoidance savings and records the savings that have been achieved.
INVOICE AND SHIPMENT DISCREPANT RESOLUTION – Verifies and maintains purchase order receipts and pricing. Provides timely and accurate resolution to purchase order-invoice pricing discrepancies and shipment issues.
SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS – Performs a wide variety of data entry relating to the Lawson Materials Management System. Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word applications.
COMPLIANCE – Follow established processes in regards to HIPAA Business Associates Agreements to protect the confidentiality of patient healthcare information. Understands how applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures impact specific job responsibilities and functions. Demonstrates actions to reasonably prevent, detect, and report unethical and unlawful business practice.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES – Performs other duties as requested to meet the needs of the department and mission of the hospital.
