Job Description
Project Manager – Construction Applications & New Facility Build Projects
Remote Role
Compensation: $70 – $80 per hour
Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: 10/26/26
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead application and technology workstreams for new healthcare facility construction and expansion projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, clinics, and unit expansions. This remote, six-month role is focused exclusively on managing application builds, system implementations, and operational readiness activities required to open new facilities—this is not a physical construction or infrastructure PM role. The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams across 30+ applications, ensuring timely, budget-conscious delivery of technology solutions. You will be responsible for project planning, risk management, documentation, stakeholder communication, and adherence to PMO and PMI methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading complex application deployments in healthcare construction environments, with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include PMP certification and experience with Epic or Cerner implementations, as well as hands-on management of application deployments for new healthcare facilities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead application-focused projects supporting new healthcare facility construction and expansion initiatives, including hospitals, medical office buildings, clinics, and unit expansions
- Drive project execution to meet aggressive timelines, milestones, and budget objectives
- Coordinate activities across 30+ applications, clinical, and technology teams
- Manage project plans, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Utilize ServiceNow PPM, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive), and other project management tools for tracking progress and reporting
- Follow established PMO and PMI-based project management methodologies
- Develop and maintain key project documentation, including Project Charters, RACI Matrices, Communication Plans, Test Plans, and Integrated Project Schedules
- Create and manage project budgets and resource plans
- Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and ensure timely follow-up
- Hold project teams accountable for deliverables and target dates
- Proactively identify risks and drive mitigation and resolution strategies
- Provide regular status updates to portfolio leaders, tower leaders, and executive stakeholders
- Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Manage related sub-projects and additional assignments as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of IT Project Management experience
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare industry experience
- Proven ability to manage large, complex, cross-functional programs
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholder groups
- Ability to thrive in a structured, process-driven environment
- Experience working within healthcare, regulatory, clinical, or enterprise environments
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification (preferred)
- Experience supporting Epic or Cerner implementation projects (preferred)
- Hands-on experience managing application builds and deployments for new healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory clinics, and unit expansions (preferred)
- Experience supporting technology readiness activities associated with construction projects (preferred)
- Experience with Google Workspace tools (preferred)
