Job Title: VPSX Administrator (Epic Infrastructure)
Hourly/Salary Compensation Range: 80-100/hr
Contract Length: 6-9 Months
Location: Remote
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Start Date: October 26
Client Overview:
Children’s Health in Dallas is seeking an experienced VPSX Administrator to support a critical Epic upgrade initiative. This consultant will serve as the subject matter expert for VPSX and enterprise print services, helping drive implementation efforts while providing knowledge transfer and training to internal team members. This is a hands-on technical role focused on both execution and enablement.
Job Description:
We are seeking a VPSX Administrator to support an enterprise Epic environment during an ongoing upgrade and infrastructure modernization effort. This individual will be responsible for the administration and support of VPSX and Windows Print Server environments, while partnering with infrastructure, endpoint, VDI, and vendor teams to ensure stable and efficient printing services.
The ideal consultant will bring deep expertise in LRS VPSX and healthcare printing environments and be capable of leading knowledge transfer efforts for internal staff. This role requires a technical expert who can implement solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, document processes, and train team members on VPSX administration and best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain enterprise print services, including VPSX and Windows Print Servers.
- Support Epic upgrade activities related to printing infrastructure.
- Coordinate print server migrations and printer fleet transitions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex print-related issues and escalations.
- Partner with Endpoint Services, VDI Operations, and third-party vendors on deployment initiatives.
- Document print infrastructure standards, procedures, and operational processes.
- Lead VPSX training, cross-training, and knowledge transfer efforts for internal teams.
- Participate in operational meetings and cross-functional projects.
Skill Set Requirements:
- Strong experience administering LRS VPSX.
- Windows Print Server administration experience.
- Epic print server experience.
- Experience supporting Epic environments and Epic upgrades.
- Active Directory administration.
- Group Policy (GPO) experience.
- DNS and DHCP knowledge.
- Experience documenting technical processes and operational procedures.
- Ability to train, mentor, and support technical teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Haves:
- Healthcare industry experience.
- Experience with enterprise print server migrations.
- Experience supporting VDI environments.
- Experience working with Endpoint Services teams.
- Prior experience providing formal knowledge transfer or technical training.
- Exposure to large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience will be considered.
- Relevant Microsoft, Windows Server, or infrastructure certifications are a plus.
