Job Title: Clinical Trial Budget Analyst
Hourly/Salary Compensation Range: $62/hr for meeting all requirements
Location: Remote
Hours: Day 5×8-Hour (08:00 – 17:00)
Contract Length: Four months
Start Date: 9/8/26 or later
Client Overview
Sutter Health Research Instituteās Clinical Trials Administration team supports the financial and operational management of clinical research studies. The team works with investigators, study teams, sponsors, CROs, Contracts, Research Finance, Coverage Analysis, Study Start-Up, and Research Operations to facilitate effective study activation and financial oversight.
Job Description
The Clinical Trial Budget Analyst will develop, analyze, negotiate, and maintain budgets for clinical research studies. This role will ensure appropriate sponsor cost recovery and alignment with institutional financial objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing clinical trial budgets based on study protocols.
- Reviewing protocols to assess procedures, personnel effort, startup requirements, pass-through costs, and institutional resource needs.
- Negotiating budgets with sponsors, CROs, and funding agencies.
- Conducting financial feasibility, cost-recovery, and budget adequacy analyses.
- Supporting study startup and activation activities.
- Ensuring alignment between clinical trial budgets and contract terms.
- Preparing and maintaining budget amendments.
- Maintaining financial records, reports, and forecasts.
- Supporting financial dashboards and operational reporting, as applicable.
- Collaborating with investigators and clinical research teams.
- Partnering with Contracts, Research Finance, Coverage Analysis, Study Start-Up, and Research Operations.
- Supporting sound financial management throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
- Providing education and consultation to investigators and research teams regarding budgeting and cost recovery, as applicable.
- Supporting sponsor audits and financial reviews, as applicable.
