Job Description

Job Description: Lead Specialist, Professional Education (Digital Spine)

Role Overview The Lead Specialist is a role within the Professional Education department. The primary objective of this role is to support the company’s digital spine portfolio, specifically the growing Velys Navigation System and Teligen Spine Surgical Visualization System technologies. The Lead Specialist will manage the entire learning cycle for Health Care Professionals (HCPs), from initial awareness through execution and program leadership. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Professional Education, Radica.

Key Responsibilities

HCP Engagement Management: Organize, run, and create content for all HCP engagements.

Program Execution: Set up and execute educational programs at various sites, including J&J Institutes located in Palm Beach Garden, Irvine, and Raynham.

Clinical Instruction: Lead clinical stations and guide groups of surgeons through technical procedures using both MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery) and open techniques.

Strategic Education: Manage the complete learning cycle for surgeons, ensuring they are proficient in using the digital portfolio technologies.

Required Qualifications (Screening Essentials)

Spine Industry Experience: A minimum of two years in a spine-related role, with a background in sales, marketing, or professional education.

Clinical Expertise: Must have a strong clinical foundation (e.g., knowledge of vertebral bodies and surgical procedures) to “hit the ground running” without needing basic clinical training.

Travel Commitment: This is a “heavy heavy travel role“. Candidates must be comfortable with 50% travel, which typically translates to ~2.5 days away from home per week, often involving weekends.

Leveling: Ability to perform at a Manager level

Preferred Qualifications

Enabling Technology: Prior experience supporting or teaching Robotics and/or Navigation.

System Familiarity: Hands-on experience with specific brand technologies:

    ◦ Navigation: Brainlab or Medtronic StealthStation.

    ◦ Robotics: Mazor X Stealth Edition (Medtronic) or Excelsius 3D (Globus).

Educational Leadership: Proven track record of leading high-level surgeon engagements with advanced technologies.

Expert Level: Candidates with 5+ years of experience who are considered “ninjas” or “rockstars” in robotics may be considered for remote work.

Logistics and Compensation

BR: $72 MAX

PR: $42

Location: While officially a Raynham-based headcount, the team is open to remote candidates for highly experienced individuals.

Contract Duration: 1 year, likelihood of extension

SD: ASAP

Delivery Screening Guide: When vetting candidates, prioritize those who do not require basic anatomy or spine training. Specifically, “double click” on resumes that mention enabling technology or navigation alongside a spine background to determine the depth of their technical expertise. Also explicitly verify that the heavy travel requirements (50%) and weekend work are not a barrier for the candidate
