Job Description

Title:Ā Sr AI/ML Engineer

Location:Ā 100% remote

Contract:Ā 6-month contract with likely extension

Start Date:Ā 12/1 or earlier

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable AI/ML solutions for healthcare data processing, predictive modeling, and analytics.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines usingĀ Python, Spark, SQL, and AirflowĀ to support advanced analytics and machine learning workloads.
  • Integrate and manage healthcare data leveragingĀ FHIR and HL7Ā interoperability standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, product managers, and healthcare domain experts to translate requirements into production-grade solutions.
  • Implement best practices for MLOps, data quality, and automation withinĀ DatabricksĀ andĀ Microsoft AzureĀ environments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by introducing new tools, frameworks, and automation to enhance development efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experienceĀ in AI/ML software engineering or data engineering roles.
  • Healthcare industry experienceĀ required, with a strong understanding of healthcare data standards and compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • DatabricksĀ andĀ Microsoft Azure certificationsĀ (required).
  • Proficient in:
  • PythonĀ (data processing, ML frameworks, automation)
  • Apache SparkĀ (distributed data processing)
  • SQLĀ (data modeling, transformations, optimization)
  • AirflowĀ (workflow orchestration and automation)
  • Deep understanding ofĀ FHIRĀ andĀ HL7Ā data integration.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in aĀ collaborative, fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying ML models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data warehouses, EHR systems, or interoperability platforms.
  • Exposure to MLOps tools such as MLflow, Azure ML, or Kubeflow.
