Epic Project Manager – Primary Care, Oncology and Women’s Health
Pittsburgh, PA
Hybrid (Onsite Tues-Thurs, Downtown Pittsburgh)
$72,000 – $116,000 per year ($40 – $55 per hour)
6-month contract-to-hire | Full-time | 8am–5pm EST | Start Date: 11/2/26
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking an experienced Epic Project Manager to lead medium to large-scale projects within the Primary Care, Oncology, and Women’s Health domains. This hybrid role is based in downtown Pittsburgh and requires onsite presence three days a week (Tuesday–Thursday). The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of new Epic features and third-party application integrations, utilizing Waterfall methodologies and managing essential project artifacts such as RAID logs, RACI matrices, project plans, and charters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare provider or hospital settings, hands-on experience with Epic EMR systems, and exceptional communication skills tailored to diverse audiences. This is a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive compensation range, ideal for candidates local to Pittsburgh or willing to commute.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead medium to large Epic EMR implementation projects in Primary Care, Oncology, and Women’s Health domains
- Manage integration of third-party applications to augment Epic EMR functionality and address system gaps
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery using Waterfall methodologies
- Develop and maintain key project artifacts, including RAID logs, RACI matrices, project plans, charters, and risk/change/escalation management documents
- Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, tailoring information to audience needs and ensuring alignment across teams
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and meet established timelines
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as necessary to ensure project success
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Support the transition of projects from implementation to operational handoff
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare provider or hospital settings
- Demonstrated experience leading Epic EMR implementations and/or third-party application integration projects
- Familiarity with Epic; Epic module implementation experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing medium to large projects, especially in Primary Care, Oncology, or Women’s Health
- Proficiency with Waterfall project management methodologies and artifact management (RAID, RACI, Project Plan, Project Charter, Risk, Change, Escalation Management)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and stakeholders
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Local to Pittsburgh, PA or willing to commute; able to work onsite 3 days/week (Tues–Thurs)
- Ability to work full-time, 8am–5pm EST
