Job Description

Senior IT Business Analyst (HIM – 3M 360 / Solventum Suite)
Remote (must reside in an approved UH state)
Contract-to-Hire (6 months, with conversion to FTE expected)

ABOUT THE ROLE

University Hospitals is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to support its Health Information Management (HIM) application environment, with a primary focus on the 3M / Solventum platform. In this 100% remote, contract-to-hire position, you will play a key role in maintaining system stability, supporting coding and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) workflows, troubleshooting application issues, and coordinating upgrades and enhancements with both internal teams and external vendors. You will be responsible for managing user access, security, and system configuration, leading testing and validation efforts, supporting HL7 interfaces, and maintaining comprehensive system documentation. This role requires strong collaboration with HIM coding teams, CDI resources, and Epic HIM IT teams to ensure seamless workflow and integration. The ideal candidate brings significant healthcare IT experience, deep expertise with HIM or revenue cycle applications, and a proven ability to analyze and improve complex workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support and maintain the 3M / Solventum HIM platform, including Engage One, Encompass, Fluency Direct, and CodeAssist
  • Maintain user access, security, and system configuration for HIM applications
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate with vendor support as needed
  • Partner with HIM coding teams, CDI resources, and Epic HIM IT teams to support workflows and integrations
  • Lead testing efforts and develop validation scripts during upgrades and system changes
  • Support HL7 interfaces for inbound and outbound HIM-related transactions
  • Maintain system documentation and support reporting requirements
  • Assist with application upgrades, enhancements, and workflow improvements
  • Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years of healthcare IT experience
  • 2+ years supporting HIM or revenue cycle applications
  • Experience supporting 3M 360 Engage One (required)
  • Experience with SQL Server-based applications
  • Strong troubleshooting and workflow analysis skills within enterprise healthcare applications
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with 3M 360 Encompass, Fluency Direct, or CodeAssist (preferred)
  • Experience working with HL7 interfaces (preferred)
  • Familiarity supporting integrations with Epic HIM modules (preferred)
  • Experience supporting enterprise healthcare systems (preferred)
