Job Description
Position Summary
Providence Health & Services is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Imaging Engineer to support diagnostic imaging systems across our facilities. This role focuses on advanced modalities including CT and MRI systems from Canon and Siemens. The ideal candidate will be experienced, self-directed, and capable of hitting the ground running with minimal onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- CT Systems: Canon Aquilion series (Prime, ONE, Lightning)
- MRI Systems: Siemens Magnetom Symphony and other Magnetom platforms (Avanto, Skyra, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to imaging equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, FDA, and internal safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize equipment performance and workflow.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for escalated service and upgrades.
- Support PACS/RIS integration and DICOM connectivity.
- Participate in equipment installations, evaluations, and lifecycle planning.
- Provide on-call support and respond to urgent service requests across multiple facilities.
Qualifications
- Associateās or Bachelorās degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience servicing CT and MRI imaging systems, preferably in a hospital setting.
- OEM training or certification on Canon Aquilion and Siemens Magnetom systems strongly preferred.
- CBET certification desirable.
- Strong understanding of imaging workflows, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Valid driverās license and ability to travel between Providence facilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with PACS/RIS systems and DICOM standards.
- Familiarity with hospital IT infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
