Role: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Remote
Duration: Contract
SUMMARY:
The Certified/Licensed Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the clinical and operational processes for current and future Clinical Pharmacy Star Measures and Medicare Part D products. This includes executing member, provider and pharmacy interventions to resolve any medication adherence barriers to improve the three triple-weighted medication adherence Stars Measures. The Pharmacy Technician will interact with organization staff pharmacist, interns, pharmacy students, and analysts daily.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
· Monitor toll free call center, handle incoming member, provider and pharmacy calls
· Address & resolve any adherence barriers at the member, provider or pharmacy level that result from clinical & non-clinical outreach
· Create branch-tree logic for resolving claims issues and member complaints
· Review calls between Medicare Part D members and CSRs
· Maintain call logs in database for Medicare Part D membership
· Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and basic research principles/methodologies.
· Assists in monitoring program initiatives, outcomes, and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.
· Assists in identifying resolution of challenges and issues in order to fulfill key corporate objectives and responds to the demands of change management and initiates actions needed to plan, organize, and control team activities.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or State of Michigan Licensure
EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in retail Pharmacy required.
· Knowledge of prescription drug names, therapeutic classes and claims processing
· Experience with Medicare Part D prescription benefits
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
· Strong customer service skills.
· Computer Literate (Microsoft Office Products).
· Knowledge of Medicare Part D; Prescription Drug Benefit.
· Strong verbal and written skills to communicate complex ideas.
· Ability to develop project management, meeting process, and presentation skills.
· Strong ability to work independently and direct the efforts of others.
· Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
· Ability to work independently, within a team environment, and communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels.
· Knowledge of pharmacy claims processing
· Understanding of formularies and utilization management edits
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
