Position: Organic Chemist Team Lead
Location: San Francisco, CA
Contract Duration: 6–12-month contract-to-hire
Start Date: February 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and inspire a team of chemists, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work culture.
- Possess deep knowledge in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry to design and execute complex experiments.
- Effectively plan, manage, and prioritize projects to ensure timely and successful outcomes within budget.
- Clearly communicate complex scientific ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., regulatory, formulation) to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contribute to regulatory filings like IND applications and clinical trials.
- Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to meet project goals.
- Proactively identify and address challenges in synthetic chemistry, optimizing processes and improving efficiency.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure laboratory practices comply with safety and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of research by providing scientific input and making data-driven decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience (PhD degree) OR 3-5 years’ experience (master’s degree) OR 5-7 years’ experience (bachelor’s degree) in synthetic organic chemistry or equivalent research experience (internships, academic projects).
- Familiarity with modern synthetic methods and analytical techniques.
