Position: Associate Organic Chemist

Location: San Francisco, CA

Contract Duration: 6–12-month contract-to-hire

Start Date: February 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform multi-step organic synthesis to develop new compounds, optimize existing processes, and produce intermediates or final products.
  • Analyze synthesized compounds using techniques such as NMR, IR, HPLC, GC-MS, and other analytical tools.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and observations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including analytical chemists, process engineers, and biologists, to support project objectives.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe working environment in the laboratory.
  • Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and propose innovative solutions to improve yields, efficiency, or product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience (master’s degree) OR 2-3 years’ experience (bachelor’s degree) in synthetic organic chemistry or equivalent research experience (internships, academic projects).
  • Familiarity with modern synthetic methods and analytical techniques.
