Job Title: Medical Device Integration Architect

Location: 100% Remote

Employment Type: 6-12-Month Contract (Contract-to-Hire potential)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Integration Architect to join our client’s healthcare technology team. This is a high-level, individual contributor role responsible for leading the evaluation, architecture, and integration of medical devices across our health system. This individual will serve as a technical expert on device connectivity and integration, working closely with Clinical Engineering the Medical Device Integration team, EHR teams, and external vendors. Strong hands-on experience with Capsule is required, along with expertise in Epic Bridges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead solution architect for all medical device integration initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth solution architecture reviews for over 800+ devices to determine system compatibility, current usage, and future needs.
  • Drive technical decisions on device selection, integration paths, and system architecture.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Engineering, the MDI team, Epic Bridges team, and external vendors to assess and implement integration solutions.
  • Lead architecture and design discussions around medical device connectivity and data flow.
  • Ensure long-term scalability and robustness of the organization’s medical device integration framework.
  • Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting, testing, validation, and deployment of device integrations.
  • Offer clear direction in meetings with diverse stakeholders and help coordinate responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a medical device integration or clinical solution architecture role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Capsule (must-have).
  • Epic Bridges experience and/or Certification strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with iBus is preferred.
  • Background in Clinical Engineering or prior collaboration with clinical engineering teams (a degree is a strong plus).
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, system interoperability, and healthcare integration best practices.
