Position: Lab Specimen Processor
Location: Winfield, IL
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for receiving, processing, labeling, distributing specimens
- Performing non-high complexity testing as required
- Perform customer service duties and other clerical duties as the job dictates
- Maintain organization of work while multi-tasking
- Communicates and collaborates effectively; includes information regarding problem solving with specimens, test cancellations, testing requirements, billing requirements with various hospital staff
- Demonstrates an ability to learn the job duties assigned to the hospital and develops an understanding of the company processes, compliance policies, test ordering information, computer system
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Pick up and deliver samples to clients/hospitals
- Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Requirements:
- Demonstrates strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- High School Diploma/Associates required
- Healthcare background/experience or interest in field
