The Hospital Biller will coordinate and facilitate all billing activities by following patient accounts through the billing process payors to ensure timely and accurate billing. The Hospital Biller will also utilize prior knowledge and experience to process the billing of inpatient and outpatient medical claims.

Experience Required:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in PAPER billing in a hospital setting
  • Experience working with UB04 claim forms
  • Proficient computer knowledge including MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of CPT codes and how DRG's are calculated

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing prior inpatient and hospital experience to apply and work through split billing and interim bills.
  • Ability to process high dollar claims.
  • In charge of running reports, printing them, verifying, and sending claims out.
  • Responsible for scanning invoices and collecting daily mail.
  • Assist Collection's team with appeal letters and uploading them into a shared drive.
  • Ensure proper documentation in the organization's billing system.
  • Provide and address billing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Possesses prior working experience with paper billing.

  • Possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have good judgment skills, and be capable of making decisions with attention to detail.
  • Effectively demonstrate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a timely and effective manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and computer typing skills.
