Job Title: Device Deployment Technician

length: 3 month contract with high possibility of extension

Location: Philadelphia

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Device Deployment Technician with 1-2 years of experience. This role involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining hardware devices within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and a solid understanding of various hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Device Deployment and Configuration:

  •   Install, configure, and test hardware devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  •   Ensure all devices are properly connected to the network and fully operational.

2. Software Installation and Updates:

  •   Install and update necessary software applications on deployed devices.
  •   Ensure that all software is licensed, up-to-date, and functioning correctly.

3. Troubleshooting and Support:

  •   Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed devices.
  •   Resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.

4. Inventory Management:

  •   Maintain an accurate inventory of deployed devices and related equipment.
  •   Track and manage the lifecycle of devices from deployment to decommissioning.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  •   Document all deployment activities, including device configurations, installations, and support incidents.
  •   Generate reports on deployment status, issues, and resolutions.

6. User Training and Support:

  •   Provide basic training to end-users on the use of deployed devices and installed software.
  •   Assist users with any device-related questions or concerns.

7. Compliance and Security:

  •   Ensure all deployed devices comply with organizational policies and security standards.
  •   Implement security measures to protect devices from unauthorized access or data breaches.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in device deployment, technical support, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with specific operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
  • Familiarity with remote deployment and management tools.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites for device deployment as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite Office environment with occasional visits to different locations for device deployment.
  • Standard working hours with occasional overtime or weekend work as required.
